The Campus Expansion Project
The Church/School campus in Everton Park undertook an ambitious expansion program to better serve their growing community. The expansion involved:
Property Acquisition and Redevelopment:
Strategic Land Purchase: Multiple private residential properties along the northern boundary of the campus were progressively acquired, creating opportunities for significant facility expansion.
Phased Demolition: The acquired houses are being systematically demolished to make way for new campus facilities, with works progressing in coordinated phases.
Dual-Purpose Development: The newly available land enables two critical improvements:
- Sporting Field Expansion: Enlarging the main playing field to accommodate growing student numbers and sporting programs
- Car Parking Facility: Creating a new car parking area with dedicated street access to alleviate parking constraints
The Elevation Challenge
The northern boundary properties sit significantly higher than the existing campus facilities. The site slopes downward from the northern boundary toward the sporting field, with an elevation difference of nearly 4 metres at its maximum point.
This substantial height difference required a robust retaining wall solution to:
- Define the boundary between the car park and sporting field
- Support the car parking area at the higher elevation
- Create a safe, stable edge for the sporting field
- Manage drainage from the elevated car park
- Provide long-term structural integrity for heavy use areas
- Complement the campus aesthetic
